If you’re looking for a perfect day trip from Italy, Capri is definitely worth your consideration. With its stunning natural beauty, picturesque towns, and crystal-clear waters, Capri is a gem that should not be missed. In this article, I’ll take you through my experience on a day trip to Capri, including the highlights and some useful tips.
I started my day early to make the most of it, taking the first ferry from Naples to Capri, which usually departs around 8:30 am. The journey from Naples to Capri takes around an hour, during which you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the charming port of Marina Grande, which was buzzing with activity.
From there, I took the chairlift to the top of Mount Solaro, which was an unforgettable experience. The ride took about 12 minutes, during which I had a panoramic view of the island and the sea. At the top, I had an incredible view of the Bay of Naples and the surrounding islands. It was a perfect spot to take some stunning photographs.
Next on my itinerary was visiting the beautiful Villa San Michele. The villa is located in Anacapri, a small town in Capri. The Swedish physician and author, Axel Munthe built the villa in the late 19th century. The villa boasts a stunning garden and a terrace that offers a breathtaking view of the island.
After visiting the villa, I headed to the town of Capri, where I explored the Piazzetta, a bustling square that’s the heart of the town. Cafes, restaurants, and shops surround the square, a great place to soak up the local culture. I also visited some of the chic boutiques selling designer clothing and jewelry, and the local market, where I picked up some souvenirs for my loved ones back home.
As the sun started to set, I made my way back to Marina Grande to catch the last ferry back to Naples. The ride back was just as scenic as the ride to Capri, with the sun setting behind the island, making for a spectacular view. As I departed from Capri, I knew I had just experienced one of the most memorable trips of my life.
If you’re planning a day trip to Capri, here are some tips to make the most of your experience. First, start early to avoid the crowds, and make sure to book your ferry tickets in advance to avoid any hassle. Second, wear comfortable shoes as there’s a lot of walking involved. Lastly, bring hats, your favorite and trustworthy sunscreen, and plenty of water, as summer can get hot and humid.

Overall, a day trip to Capri is a must-do for anyone visiting Italy. Capri is truly a paradise on earth with its stunning natural beauty, rich history, and charming towns. I hope this article has inspired you to plan your trip to Capri and experience its wonders.
